Well, someone else finally sent a mail to -email is unavailable- so I became aware of it. This was happening on all new list's for the last 2 weeks or so. I've fixed this issue. I don't have permissions to close this.

The KLog project is suffering the same problem with the mailing lists.

I don't know if this is the problem or not but new mailing lists get created by an hourly cron task.  The web interface puts the new mailing list into the queue for creation.  Then once an hour a cron task processes the queue and creates the lists.

Which means that if you created the list in the web interface and then sent email to it before the cron task ran to process the queue and create it then at that time mail to the mailing list will bounce.

Not sure that is the problem here but it is one of the typical problems often seen.

hi iain - well, as i guess you've seen, it looks like the list got created correctly. there are fsf server(s) which sit between the internet and lists.gnu.org, though, and i suppose the new address hasn't propagated everywhere yet. it should be instant, but ... maybe try again, and if it still fails, please write sysadmin@fsf.org? (different set of people.)

also, it could only help to include a copy of an actual bounce, with all headers, so it can be known for sure what system is emitting the bounce ...

best,
karl

Hi,

I'm unable to send any emails to my newly created list: -email is unavailable- (https://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/taskdeb-discuss).

I get 550 unroutable address bounces back.

What is wrong here?

Thanks,
Iain.
