As to the wiki, I see no problem in maintaining it elsewhere, be it SourceForge or any other place; so unless (or until) anybody objects I am closing this task. Thanks, Mario!

I'm not sure so I wlll forward tomorrow your inquery to
savannah-hackers-public.  In the meantime until I get a response you
can leave the wiki on SF, but maybe you will have to move the wiki out
of SF, be ready.

Regards.

Hello,

we tried GIT for a short time but we decided to stay with SVN and just imported our last revision (I know this is the most dirtiest way we could do :) )

Another question, can we leave our Wiki on SF? Because savannah's webhosting doesn't support PHP and MySQL and we do not want to pay any hoster for our wiki.

Regards,

Srdjan

Sorry, I don't how to manage SVN, you can forwared your request in the
list savannah-hackers-public@gnu.org, where another staffer may help
you.

But before doing so, please consider switching to a distributed
version control system, like GIT, Bazaar, mercurial, monotone,
etc... they are by far, more flexible than SVN, and there are free
software to keep the history from the current SVN repository in
another, DVCS system, you can search for "SVN to GIT converter" or
anything similar, or ask in the savannah-hackers-public list :).

Good luck.

To the best of my knowledge, you do not need to include that notice about encryption software in your package.  The statement on savannah suffices.

Best,
Karl

Hi, one more question:

the main reason we moved from SF was the US export regulations (http://www.bis.doc.gov/encryption/PubAvailEncSourceCodeNotify.html).

We are both austrian developers and would like that everyone can use our software.

But today I've read this http://savannah.gnu.org/maintenance/SavannahCryptographicRestrictions.

So my question is, do we need this notice in our source or somewhere else?

Our code does not implement any encryption yet and I don't think that it will do it in the next time, but we may support luks-encrypted HDDs soon and we also may write an installer that automatically activates SSL in Apache.

Regards.

March 2nd 2010 in GNU Savannah task 10176: "Submission of
Multicast Linux Installation"

There is no need to do anything else on sourceforge than to just state
in the main page than the project has been moved to here as "muglin".

Please add the licensing information to all the files above 10 lines
long: copyright holder, copyright years (Don't use ranges, list all
the years) and license header (GPL header if the file is GPL'ed:
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-3.0.html#howto, or the appropiate
header if another license is used).

If some file can't contain comments inside, put a README file in the
directory of that file stating the licensing information of the file
(Preceding with something like "This is valid for file FOO, as
distributed by MUGLIN").

I will approve the project since now so you can upload the project to
the VCS of your choise and begin to develop, but please fix the alredy
pointed issues (See above) before anything else, and please let me
knot when you fixed them, I will review it and make the registration
process as finished if all is ok or tell you the needed changes.

Regards.

Hallo,

I'm the other guy developing mulin. I'd changed everything i could but sf is actually not able to change the project name because some services are offline.

As soon as they get online, I'll change it.

Thanks.

Hi.

Ok, then please state in the sf page that project is moving to
savannah.  You may or may not delete the downloads in source forge,
but the development should happen in savannah, and once the project is
approved on savannah the page in sf must point to the savannah
page as the new page for your project.

>And yes, it's for GNU/Linux ;-)

Yes, but unfortunately the name "mulin" incorrectly refers to linux as
the OS, when I wrote "Could you please change references to Linux as
an OS to GNU/Linux?." I were talking of the mulin name too (:, what
new name are you planning to use?.

I am waiting for an answer from you.

If you not longer want to use GNU Savannah please let us know.  We
won't bite, and it will make us gain time.

If within one week we don't get a reply I will delete the submission,

Hi,

I'm evaluating the project you submitted for approval in
Savannah. While doing so I have noticed a few problems which are
described below.

Savannah is a central point for development, distribution and
maintenance of GNU Software. We also host Free Software projects that
are not part of the GNU Project, but run on free platforms.

However, we do not allow to host your project on Savannah and
SourceForge at the same time, if Savannah is just a project mirror.
Your project development should happen primarily on Savannah.  How do
you plan to use your Savannah account?

Also, please note that "Linux" is just a kernel of a more complex
system that we like to refer to as GNU/Linux, to emphasize the ideals
of the Free Software movement.

Could you please change references to Linux as an OS to GNU/Linux?.
For more information, see http://www.gnu.org/gnu/linux-and-gnu.html.

Regards.
