Hi again,

As you will have to resubmit with the correct name anyway, I am closing this submission. Please be sure to solve all issues before you do. Thanks!

Hi Alejandro,

I am reviewing your submission on behalf of Savannah, sorry for the delay. There are a few issues with your submission:

  • First, the name given here is "Linus Ethernet Console", but on lec.spec it says "Linux Ethernet Console". I believe you want the latter.
  • Then we find the problem of saying "Linux" instead of "GNU/Linux", which is directly against the hosting requirements.
  • Many files lack the required GPL header, see the GPL howto for details.
  • You depend on "cec from Coraid which followed a GPL license", but the actual files distributed here state that they are owned by "Coraid, Inc" and to have "All rights reserved". To be compliant all files should have the GPL header.
  • Similarly, the license information for nca is only on README.nca, but not on individual files.

Could you solve these issues and update a new tarball, so we can continue with the review process? Thanks!

Registration Details

  • Name: Linus Ethernet Console
  • System Name:  lec
  • Type: non-GNU software & documentation
  • License: GNU General Public License v2 or later (Includes code that is licensed with a 2 part BSD license.

)

Description:

Implements Co-raid ethernet console for a Linux server.

It can be used to provide remote access to the console early in the boot process.

Other Software Required:

No particular external dependencies.

Includes code from other projects:

cec from Coraid which followed a GPL license.
nca from various authors which follows a Modified BSD license.

Other Comments:

While coraid's cec distribution includes a client, it does not implements the server side of the protocol.

This project implements a cec server on Linux, and bundles cec and nca so that can be used on a headless Linux server.
