interface".

Hi.

I'm evaluating the project you submitted for approval in GNU Savannah.
You can reach the rest Savannah hackers (Staff) in this list:
http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/savannah-hackers-public.

I noticed some issues with the tarball you submited
gxinterface-20101023.tar.bz2 (SHA256:
6dfd5f2072d284a723f6015570baade5747339acbf59498678ebb05ef5df5434).

Some non-code text files don't contain their licensing information
inside, but there is a README which covers them, however, the README
don't contains the "or any later version" clause.  Could you please
include it?

The reason for this is that when the Free Software Foundation publish
the next version of the GPL, it will be important for all GPL-covered
programs to advance to that new version.  If you don't put this in the
files now, the only way to port your program to the next version of
the GPL would be to ask each and every copyright holder, and that may
be very difficult.

We can explain the issue in more detail if you wish. If you have
concerns about "GNU GPL v3 or later", we'd be happy to address them
too.

Note: The README file is only required for those files which can't
contain this information inside.  Usually text files contain their
Copyright & licensing information inside and every file which don't is
listed individually in the README.  For instance:
http://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/emacs.git/plain/etc/images/README.
However it's ok to list in README files which alredy contain their
licensing information inside, but that's optional.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Please fix the above issue and provide a updated tarball.  You can
ethier attach it to the tracker or use an external hosting and provide
a direct download URL.
I'ts customary to put the all files inside a single top directory
named "TARNAME-VERSION" before tar-ing'em.  This is not a requirement
at all but is adviced to avoid the users the need to create a new
directory before unpack the tarball.
At your option we can continue the registration process in the (D)VCS
repository of your choise.  This means I would approve the project
just now provided you agree to fix any remaining or further issue (If
any) as soon as possible.
I will close this task when I can check all is ok but please bear in
mind you must follow the hosting requirements as long as you do use
GNU Savannah, independently of how the registration process is
finished.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Regards

hello,
here is the new version of source code (20101023)
licences update to v3 and added to all subdir (main, data, src)
would change the name to gxinterface (Gtk eXtended interface)

don't forget to change in gxinterface/src/gemod.h the path to the .so
and in gxsynth/src/sysex_edit.h IMAGE_DIR to path of gxsynth/data/images
only gxinterface need to be installed
gxsynth is a sysex editor module for dx7
gxsynth is loading sound bank for dx7 in .syx format

In the uploaded code the .la path is hard fixed in gemod.cc
it refert to user dependant path so you have to change it
so you have to change this to reflet the path of the decompressed gxsynth/src
as it you can run gxsynth without installing it.

In last code (next tar) the path is in gemod.h with macro MODULES_UI_DIR

In the realease this will be fixed to "/usr/share/gxinterface[-gx_version]/modules/"$PKG_NAME"-"$PKG_VERSION"/"$PKG_NAME".la"

in the POTFILES.in the .glade file must be changed to .ui

Last code is at http://savannah.gnu.org/submissions_uploads/gxinterface_20101007.tar.gz

you need FOR ALL : libgtkmm libglibmm gthread autotools libtool intltool gettext
 for gxsynth : gxinterface libasound

Registration Details

  • Name: Gnome eXtended interface
  • System Name:  gxinterface
  • Type: non-GNU software & documentation
  • License: GNU General Public License v3 or later (

)

Description:

It's a generic application allowing an easiest and fast way to do an application for non-developers by doing modules.
it abstracting the :
- (un)loading ui and module files.
- get_widget
- attach/detach module to main app or the sub modules manager
- dynamic creating of menu

Each module can be a independent application.
it using c++ glibmm gtkmm pthread

develloper only need :
- an ui file for the interface object with same name as the .la
- a module (.la) which inherit from gemod ( for modules manager as a module for example if you need to load many different module in your application )  or gxmodules for the lower module.
- to create signal_function and attach them to object interface with the predefine get_gwidget<Gtk::Object_type>("name_in_ui")

The module can inherit from gxthread if it need thread

Other Comments:

for now we are doing and concentrate, as a fonctionnal example, on  :
- gxsynth a modules manager for sysex editor modules (inherit gemod)
- gxdx7 a threaded (for the listen_midi message) sysex editor module for dx7 (inherit gx_module and gxthread )

gxinterface loading .la and .ui gxsynth (the modules manager of sysex editor ) which load .la .ui gxdx7 ( the sysex editor for dx7 synthe )

you need to get installed gxinterface to made modules
 i put all file in the tar, gxinterface and gxsynth
for now gxdx7 is in gxsynth
maybe gxsynth would be a different project
