That's fine, but I would like to raise an official with this submission protocol. I'll make a post on savannah-hackers. Sorry about all of this hassle. :)

Tarball consisting only from COPYING file is too generic, tarball should contain something that you have created. I'm afraid I have to close this submission.

Feel free to submit your project again when you will produce some code.

Sorry,
Tomasz

I don't have any source files. Like I said, I haven't begun development yet, I wanted to register the project while it's being planned so that all of my development can take place in Git. Why can you not approve the project with just a COPYING?

You forgot about adding at least one source code file (which should be at lest 10 lines long) :)

Sorry for not being clear. By "skeleton" tarball I mean tarball which contains source code files (these does not have to be able to do anything, but at least one file should be 10+ lines long, just to be copyrightable) and COPYING file. We need it to prevent licensing issues like missing licensing headers and etc.

Thanks,
Tomasz

I have attached a 'skeleton' tarball. I must ask though, why is a tarball required? This just seems stupid to me. :P

Hi!

I'm sorry, we can not process project without tarball. I understand that project is in early stage of development, but tarball doesn't have to be complete. Even skeleton would be acceptable. If you are unable provide tarball yet, I will close this submission.

Sorry,
Tomasz

Description:

Ceres is a Web application that supports distributed agriculture projects. Distributed agriculture in this sense is defined as the cultivation of plants for human purposes across a number of sites and by a number of people or groups. A distributed agricultural project can set up a Ceres node, which provides tools to manage the project. A Ceres installation should help a DAP by:

  • facilitating management of planting and harvesting;
  • acting as an information resource about the species members which to grow, and local factors such as climate;
  • providing communications and events tools to assist members in DAP activities such as harvest distribution;
  • promoting the existence of the DAP to non-members by giving it a public face via a website, and allowing non-members to get involved.

Ceres assumes a permacultural perspective and promotes activities such as inter-cropping. Ceres is written in the Go programming language.
