In the process of users trying to update the jobs to reflect continued relevance, it has been noted several times that saving updates to the job post creates no time stamp change.  My spreadsheet, unless the user actually placed a date in their updated description, may be the only way to know if a particular job poster has been contacted.  Since I was under the impression the time stamp would change, I need to confirm this detail before moving on.  My template text may change depending on the results of my investigation.

I'll be embarking on a contact effort over the next couple weeks
to query posters of help wanted for projects [1] from oldest on up
as to whether the help is still needed, and if not, that they
please close the request.  If help is still needed, I'll
encourage them to refresh the request and also post some news
regarding their projects if they are indeed active.  I'm
reviewing earlier efforts at this for ideas to write up some polite
and encouraging text.

I'm tracking progress in the spreadsheet linked to below:

This spreadsheet shows all perceived stale jobs on Savannah, the project they are associated with, the user who posted the job, when the user was contacted with the text below, when the user responded and whether the job was closed or not.  Notes are included for special responses.

My name is Christian Bryant and I am helping to review the Help Wanted section of Savannah, the GNU software forge.  The following posts of yours are still marked as "open" in the system:

Are these calls still open?

In an effort to keep the Help Wanted section up-to-date, if they are still open, we would like to encourage you to update them. If a position's description has not changed, a trivial addition to the text should be enough to update the post's date. If the positions are no longer open, then we would request that you set their status to "Closed," which would hide them from view. Keep in mind that if the position becomes available again, you are welcome to re-open the call.

Thank you very much for your help.

Christian Bryant
