Hi Ineiev

A new zip file has been uploaded "whammer_updated.zip", txt, png and mat files has been removed from the archive as these are output generated at runtime. Input files have been updated with valid copyright and license notices

Hello, Anders!

Please make sure all your files have valid copyright and license notices. Note that even image files should have them. If the format of the files doesn't allow for such notices, they should be written in a README file in the same directory with files in question.

I can see a few *.mat files in your tarball. Did you check that they are compatible with Octave?

Registration Details

  • Name: Whammer
  • System Name:  whammer
  • Type: non-GNU software and documentation
  • License: X11 license (Requires either GNU Octave or Matlab (R). Can most likely be translated with a reasoanble work effort  to run on Scilab, and Python/Scipy/Numpy)

Description:

A set of *.m files with code which runs under both octave and Matlab, on Windows and GNU/Linux/Unix like operating systems.

The program calculates 1D transient pressure/head response in pipeline systems subject to sudden changes in flow i.e. valve closing, pump start/stop etc. Both single phase and cavitation/column separation is modelled. Various unstedy friction models are implemented as well. The solution scheme is using the method of characteristics (MOC) for solving the coupled partial differential equations (continuity and momentum).
The code is rigorously tested against available experimental investigations from the literature.

Other Software Required:

GNU Octave - GNU GPL
