Yes, i used fluid to generate the skeleton of the GUI and then i have "tuned" the code generated.

That's great!

Now I will apply the fixes, however the replacement of openbabel will take a couple of weeks.

Bye!

Yes, in that case the generated files are now the preferred way to modify the project GUI, so the generated files have become "official" source code. So you can just add copyright and GPL license notices to these files.

I already asked to openbabel mailing list but still got no reply. I think i will drop out the library but this will take some coding...

Fluid produces plain c++ source, i used it to generate these files and then i deleted the input project files. Because the output of fluid are source files i wonder if could be suffice to add the GPL copyright notice on top of these files.

Hi,

I'm evaluating the project you submitted for approval in Savannah.

As far as I can see, openbabel is released under GPLv2 only (not GPLv2 or later). This means you cannot use it in your GPLv3 project. Maybe you could discuss with the openbabel authors and clarify this?

In order to release your project properly and unambiguously under the GNU GPL, please place copyright notices and permission-to-copy statements at the beginning of every copyrightable file, usually any file more than 10 lines long.

In addition, if you haven't already, please include a copy of the plain text version of the GPL, available from http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl.txt, into a file named "COPYING".

For more information, see http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-howto.html.

Also, some of your files are binary (jpg...) and do thus not carry copyright notices. You should add a README file in the same directory containing the copyright and license notices. Check http://www.gnu.org/prep/maintain/html_node/Copyright-Notices.html for further information.

The GPL FAQ explains why these procedures must be followed.  To learn why a copy of the GPL must be included with every copy of the code, for example, see http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-faq.html#WhyMustIInclude.

There's a iso.pdf file in your archive, but without source nor copyright or license notice. Please clarify the origin of this file, and also include the source for this document (.odt, .tex, ...).

I see that some files are produced with fluid:

  • The remark about binary files apply here, you need to specify the copyright and license of those files

  • Is there a source Fuild file, or does fluid work directly on the .cpp files? If there's a Fuild project file, please include it.

Please register your project once more with the changes mentioned above.

Make sure to apply all changes requested, so you will only need to re-register once.

The re-registration URL found in our acknowledgment of your earlier registration will direct you to the proper location where you can re-register your project.

Regards.
