Registration Details

  • Name: GNU/Linux Anywhere USB Controller
  • System Name:  awusb
  • Type: non-GNU software & documentation
  • License: GNU General Public License v3 or later

Description:

DiGi Anywhere USB device (http://www.digi.com/products/usb/anywhereusb.jsp) can currently only be controlled from Microsoft Windows. The goal of this project is to develop a software that can control the device from a GNU/Linux system. To understand how to control the device, the communication between the device and the proprietary controller through the Ethernet will be reverse-engineered by tapping on the Ethernet with Wireshark (http://wireshark.org). The software is programmed in C programming language.

Other Software Required:

Currently there is no dependency.
But, in the future, the software will be most likely to be dependent on the Linux kernel.
