Corresponding source code
While preparing packages to be build with musl C library we found that Xlog does not compile with it. For details see https://bugs.gentoo.org/832236
Reason is the code which tries to switch stderr to a file and back again in src/gui_tracedialog.c. As it turned out musl made stderr file pointer a constant.
I did some checks to work around the problem. It seems that it is enough to just switch the underlying filedescriptor with a dup2() call. There seems to be no need to also change the FILE * stderr itself with freopen() or fdopen(). See attached patch file.
On first test the idea seems to work, but you should check again.
