I have put together a script to convert the new style iso to to an iso with a floppy boot image.
Run the script on your iso and it will now boot using a floppy image hopefully bypassing the problem.
Available in the Morphix cvs repository :-
http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/checkout/morphix/morph-scripts/convert_to_boot.img.sh?rev=1.1
http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/morphix/morph-scripts/convert_to_boot.img.sh?rev=1.1&view=markup
I have working with Alextreme and this is likely to been the long term Morphix solution. Maybe this bug could be closed ?
Feedback welcome,
Enjoy,

Yep - I am also having this problem - IPC Webnote. It appears to be only laptop that are affected. I have tried
I get error 21 at stage 1.5 - in that the disk does not exist.
I have stripped out all the menus.lst, but with no joy. It ther a preconfig with the compiled grub ?
I have then created a cd-rom using plain old grub. (A new d/load and build.)
I then followed the instructions:-
http://www.gnu.org/software/grub/manual/grub.html#Making%20a%20GRUB%20bootable%20CD-ROM
(no emulation mode in the El Torito specification)
So that I can just boot to grub command line. The devices fd0 and hd0 do exisit but device (cd) does not exist.
For example I do: cat (<<TAB>>
I only get option of fd0 fd1 .. fd8 hd0
A have also tried making a new iso without the -boot-load-size 4 This has no effect on the error.
I google search suggests that upgrading a BIOS in some machine may work. But I have the latest version of BIOS for my machine. IPC - Webnote.
What version/make of BIOS do other poeple have ?

Just wanted to drop a note and say we're working on the issue. This is an issue with the grub version we're using in Morphix at the moment, and will be resolved in a future release.
cheers,

I have a Compaq laptop, 3015US, and your distro refuses to boot. I've downloaded the .8 ISO twice and burned it with different programs, Alcohol and CDBurnerXP Pro. I also tried two differnet burners, a standard TEAC DVD/CDRW combo on my laptop and a Sony DVD RW DRU-530A. I get:
GRUB loading, please wait...
Error 21
