gcu-0.3 is unstable and cannot be used with gnome-crystal-0.6.
This is known, deliberate and not a bug.

This is with gcc 3.4.2, glibc 2.3.3 with nptl enabled, gnome-chemistry-utils 0.3.1, and gtkglext 1.0.6. I have also applied a patch that changes all the pkgconfig check from looking for gcu to gcu-0.3
