http://linuxwirel ... Drivers/ar9170.fw

"""This page is for the ar9170 open firmware. ar9170.fw is the firmware for the Atheros 802.11n USB chipset (AR9170). It was released by Atheros under the GPLv2 License with a lot of contributions made by the community. The firmware is maintained by the community."""

Currently to use this in gNewSense 3 on non-mipsel need to follow all of:

http://wiki.debia ... g/ar9170usb#Lenny

which involves using git, manually copying stuff etc.

(For mipsel only need to install firmware - steps 1-3 - since linux version is already new enough; older wireless-tools seems okay but should see what behavior is like with newer version as in doc.)

Would be good to make this "just work" for users, since it's one of the few free as in freedom USB wifi chipsets, and the only one that I know of that supports 802.11n.
