Fri 15 Feb 2013 06:10:08 AM UTC, comment #1: Hi, Thanks for reporting. By default Linterna Mágica checks for updates automatically and informs for such via the web interface. The version of Linterna Mágica can be found by holding the mouse pointer above the logo or by clicking it - in the about box. The SVN nightly builds use similar naming to the proposed one. I might consider your suggestion and introduce it in the next bug-fix release. The main motive against such naming is that the user would have multiple versions installed and would have to uninstall old ones. With the current scheme new versions are installed on top of the old one.	Ivaylo Valkov <valkov>

It would be nice instead to see "Linterna Mágica release 02/01/2013" or similar, as then I would know if my version needs updating and it would be easier when filing bugs (I could fill in the correct version).
