I'll be working on our CentOS64 cluster over the next week or so and will try out the v1.2.6 RC3. We'd switched over to pcs in the meantime.
Thanks Dejan

The situation should have improved in the meantime. Does the latest build from OBS work for you now?

Many thanks for the analysis and the correct title :)

Unfortunately, our OBS contains only pacemaker 1.1.7 against which crmsh is built and, as explained in the other bug report you referenced, directories moved around since pacemaker 1.1.8. Well, there'll be crmsh v1.2.6 in a week or two and this issue will need to be fixed before that. Somehow.

Whoops, hadn't logged in when I raised this.

Hi,
I installed crmsh-1.2.5-55.3.x86_64 from the OpenSUSE repo on CentOS 6.4 with Pacemaker 1.2.5-55.3 and get the following error when attempting to create a new shadow (Note all the following commands run as root):

crm(live)cib# new test
INFO: test shadow CIB created
ERROR: test: no such shadow CIB

If I then try to create that same shadow again I get the following:

crm(live)cib# new test
A shadow instance 'test' already exists.
To prevent accidental destruction of the cluster, the --force flag is required in order to proceed.

Trying to create the same shadow with crm_shadow also throws the same error:

[root@node crmsh]# crm_shadow -c test
A shadow instance 'test' already exists.
To prevent accidental destruction of the cluster, the --force flag is required in order to proceed.

I looked at comment #21 in bug #37760 (http://savannah.nongnu.org/bugs/index.php?37760#comment21) and comparing with a CentOS6.3/Pacemaker 1.1.7 install I could see that the directories used to store the cib had indeed changed as you suggested. Creating a symlink to map the 1.1.8 directory to the old 1.1.7 location allowed crm to again work with the shadow cibs.

ln -s /var/lib/pacemaker/cib /var/lib/heartbeat/crm

I didn't consider the other changed directories so there may still be issues related to the changes.

Regards,
John
