A fix is being implemented. See bug 41577.

Hi,

Actually I think it is preferable to have to click to start a clip (which is pretty much the case already with many popular sites with Firefox's mixed content blocker) than to have the browser freezes randomly on many sites (that includes many News sites and pages where there is no video) and have to kill the browser with terminal. LM is a great script but IMO this is a real show stopper.

Thanks

Hi,

That is not a bad idea but it has a major downside. If it is implemented it must be the default mode otherwise there is no point in it. This means that the user must always click to start a clip. For me personally that is annoying. I'll think about it.

Thanks.

How about a 'play' button? i.e LM doesn't load automatically until click 'play', that way it wouldn't work in the backgroud whenever a page with flash objects is load, and it will also avoid the problem of LM being too busy on pages with with multiple videos.

Hi,

Thanks for reporting. Yes, the high CPU usage is one of the greatest problems reported lately. It comes from the scripts parsing while trying to find flash objects and clips. I'm tring to think something to fix this. No luck yet.

I'm afraid that there is no way to implement a kill button that will kill a running Linterna Magica instance. It is technically impossible as far as I know. The closest thing is to have a Greasemonkey icon/button in the taskbar and enable/disable it when needed (see attached image).

Switching between flash and LM was deprecated since it is too much effort. Disabling Greasemonkey, enabling a flash plugin and refreshing the page has the same effect.

I'm leaving this bug report open for a while in case I came up with an idea.

Hi,

There are sites where LM either doesn't load or doesn't load correctly. In some cases it would try without success and using up cpu. It would be nice if there is a button to stop LM when it is not working correctly. I remembers earlier versions there used to be an option to use flash plugin instead of LM, it is probably a good idea to implement something similar but not requiring flash plugins to be present, basically just an ption to stop LM when requires.

Thanks.
