Thanks - That would be great - Could you please link it here when you do?

The wm I use is marco, the mate version of metacity.

The problem seems to be rooted somewhere in libwnck, tough. Should I report a bug there?

Also, savannah ate my account it seems, so I'll have to check on this bug manually :/

Ah, now I see which window manager you are using, sorry for not being very attentive.

I am very much suspecting that this is a Unity problem and not a devilspie2 one - I have seen reports of Compiz crashing on g_logv, for example

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/1044662

A backtrace with debug enabled will however help.

What window manager are you using?
Could you rebuild devilspie2 with debug information enabled and do the backtrace again?

Hey! I was in the process of replacing my wmctrl scripts with devilspie2 (yay for sane config files!), and while it worked fine for many apps, I noticed that whenever Kerbal Space Program is open, dp2 crashes with an X error (see attached files for details).

wmctrl reports N/A for the window class and window class instance name, but dp2 seems to go while looking for the application icon, if I read the backtrace correctly? I don't get it, but here's a bug report - either it's the first one you got, or I can't use savannah properly.
