The MPDCon GNUmakefile.preamble file expects that the environment var `$(need-libbsd)` is set to "yes" in order to build correctly in Linux. Without it, the makefile will not link against libbsd.
However on Linux with bash, one cannot set the environment variable if it contains an `-` character. One can get around this by using `env '$need-libbsd=yes`, however bash will NOT be able to match it when running line 5 of the `GNUmakefile.preamble` : `ifeq (yes,$(need-libbsd))`
