this problem was reported by a debian user as bug report https://bugs.debian.org/921244

with sendmail/pipe, bcc is somewhat broken and dcc is totally broken.

when you try to send an email with a bcc header, then post submits it to the mta TWICE - once completely unmodified, with the bcc header left in place (and thus left to the mta to handle) and once unsuccessfully in form of a
bcc-warning-encrusted message that has neither to: nor bcc: headers and therefore fails altogether because the mta cannot determine where to send the message to, as in pipe mode the message headers are authoritative for routing.

net result: bcc creates spurious error messages but "works", however in the fashion described for dcc (ie. no warning).

if you try to send a message with a dcc header, then that is totally ignored under sendmail/pipe - and is left in place, which defeates the purpose of 'blind' copies quite utterly.

attached is a patch that partially restores bcc functionality by
making it work like dcc (i.e. no warning); i'll start a discussion of better/more complete approaches to fixing this issue on nmh-workers RSN.
