This is an excellent patch. Really needed this.
I also submitted a patch that'll allows users to mark an entire feed as 'Read'. I was about to do this patch here too but you beat me to it!

The app doesn't sort articles as in the previous session on startup. In addition it allows only the ascending sorting order when the user clicks on an article table header.
The attached patch improves user experience.

It also fixes compiler warnings on the functions of kind compareArticleXXXX by changing their return value type to NSComparisonResult.
