This was fixed in Parkes some time ago.
Squeeze's OpenOffice.org has scandoc.pl. The included Boost version (1.39.0) is free.
Boost 1.30, which is included in Debian Lenny's OpenOffice.org, falls under Artistic License 1.0. That license is not FSF-free.
The license for boost is FSF-free (http://www.gnu.org/licenses/license-list.html). Does this not mean that gNewSense metad's OOo is FSF-free then?
This was also a problem for deltah, but I fixed that. It's best to patch the distro's package, to get the best OS integration and security fixes.
Is this also a problem for gNewSense deltah? Should I replace OpenOffice.org with an alternative?
boost-1.30.2 is present in metad OpenOffice.org source. There's no src_extensions tarball or directory, so I assume it doesn't contain scandoc.pl.
I haven't checked these claims for metad yet, hence "need info".
Reported on the gnu-linux-libre list [1]:
Also, a go-oo folk told me -in a very vague way that needs a deeper look- that even the go-oo version isn't fully free, just "freer". It seems to include at least a binary only library -which they told me is free, but they are lazy to cross compile-, several language tools -hypenation filters and such- with bogus licenses and some other minor things.
Two pieces in OOO under the Artistic license:

The source can be found here: http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/tomcat/archive/connectors/trunk/scandoc/scandoc.pl

Although the license for the Boost libraries seems to be different for current versions: http://www.boost.org/users/license.html (fossology confirms the new license to be that one for all files).
