We installed a new git repository browser at:
http://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/
It's written in C, uses a static library rather than forking git, has a cache system, and hence is pretty fast!
Let us know how it works for you.
Tarball download (posted by Andreas Gruenbacher, Thu 12 Mar 2009 03:30:34 PM UTC) |
I consider the tarball download feature rather useful. The file names of those tarballs are less useful, though: nothing indicates that those are snapshots rather than official releases (which, unlike snapshots, would include generated files like ./configure).

There's no RSS feed (posted by John Darrington, Wed 21 Jan 2009 03:25:44 AM UTC) |
It would be nice if there was a RSS feed like on the old interface. |
Looks good (posted by Mike Swanson, Mon 12 Jan 2009 03:22:24 AM UTC) |
Seems like it doesn't handle binary diffs well, see for example: http://git.savannah.gnu.org/gitweb/?p=freedoom.git;a=commitdiff;h=a9208dc1c99dede9e7327f563d0f63730d9770f6;hp=2d418d78c3ab2970070a3c9b345890e54bd4d2b3

RE: Binary files support (posted by Sylvain Beucler, Sun 01 Feb 2009 07:42:36 PM UTC) |
Lars released version 0.8.2 with support for binary files: it now shows an output similar to hexdump's for these files.
