GetHT - News

I just released a new version of GetHT. There are no new features, this release just fixes some bugs, switches to a simpler build system, and updates the documentation to reflect the fact that issues of Hinduism Today can now be accessed directly from their website.

GetHT 0.2 is now available. This release is likely to be the last, as Hinduism Today now offer PDF download links directly from their website.
This version is mostly a bugfix release, with significant improvements to the build system.
If you spot any bugs let me know on the bug tracker, and we can work them out.

I no longer have time to work much on GetHT at the moment, so there will be no more features added, only bug fixes for now. Of course if someone wants to help out they're more than welcome and we can roll a new release, but barring that don't expect much activity from here (until further notice).
The existing code should still work fine though, and if not please submit a bug report and I'll fix it!

GetHT 0.1 is now available. This version is a lot cleaner, in both code and interface, as well as having several
new features:
- Download resume support
- --download-section option to download individual issue sections

Today the project has switched to using Git as its version control system. This will undoubtedly make it easier to manage, and easier to play with the code, and contribute patches. The getht-commit mailing list will no longer be used to track commits. [...]

GetHT 0.0.2 is now out, available for the world to play with.
This release focuses on significant improvements in robustness, stablity and simplicity.
GetHT no longer supports multimedia file downloading, as reverse-engineering the contents files was unsustainable, and many of the multimedia files are now available on the official Hinduism

Well, the nasty bugs are finally fixed.
I decided to remove support for downloading multimedia files from the project, for a few reasons. Firstly, having to reverse-engineer the file format was not simple or fun, and was taking more time to maintain than I had available. Also most of the multimedia files are hosted on the official Hinduism

Well, the bugs have turned out to be somewhat larger than I expected, so the fix is taking abit longer.
Basically, the new media contents file released by Hinduism Today is not as clean as previous versions, which GetHT doesn't expect, so falls over on.

Well, the latest release of the Hinduism Today contents files flumoxed GetHT somewhat.
They just changed a couple of things unexpectedly, enough to cause the young getht to fall over.
The fix should be pretty easy, however, and a new release (numbered 0.0.2, I expect) will be available on or before July 2nd 2007.
