Skribilo is a document production system derived from Skribe. It aims at allowing for the production of documents in a wide range of output formats (HTML, Lout, LaTeX, etc.) from a single source file, while providing fine-grain control over the output for each specific format. It comes with a number of packages that provide markups to produce colored program source, formatted equations, pie charts, etc.

At first sight, Skribilo is yet another ``markup'' language, not unlike HTML, XML, etc. However, Skribilo provides a complete, modular ``document programming framework'' based on the Scheme language, that makes it easy to customize document production or to write new packages. It uses GNU Guile 2.0/1.8 as the underlying Scheme implementation.
