Thank you for your reply,
I will add a lock file to prevent storeBackupUpdateBackup running on multiple hosts at once.

Hi,
it's not safe.
Also it's not save to run multiple updateBackup remotely (if you run multiple replications) at the same time.
The probability that something goes wrong is pretty low, but it exist.
I have some ideas how to change this, but it's difficult for compatibility reasons and my time is limited these days ....
Also, other things have a higher priority.

So, best is to use different time frames.

Hi,
I am implementing backup replication here to a remote server (over the Internet). I run the master storeBackup backup ok then storeBackupUpdateBackup copies it to the delta cache.

Now I would like to run the storeBackupUpdateBackup for the copy ON the remote server and have it access the delta cache over NFS.

Is this safe? Do I need to a lockfile to prevent both storeBackupUpdateBackup processes from accessing the delta cache at the same time?

Or is there a better way to send the deltas to the remote server for processing?

Thanks,
Hamish
