The closing -verbatim- tag was ignored because it was in the same line with +verbatim+; so the block wasn't closed, and the markup-to-HTML converter didn't output it (i.e. until the end of comment).

I've just fixed the converter to take into account unclosed verbatim blocks.

Thank you; I'll look into the issue.

For grins, I'm going to write three paragraphs below this one.  The first and third will consist merely of plain text; the second will contain illegal inline "verbatim" tags.  My conjecture is that in the browser, you'll see only the first of these paragraphs.  ("Preview" confirms this.)

Here is the first paragraph.  Simple enough, eh?

Here is the second paragraph.  Here I'm +verbatim+ breaking the law -verbatim- and using "verbatim" tags inline.  Per the documentation, this paragraph should be suppressed.

Here is the third paragraph, which you probably will not see if you're reading this comment in a web browser.  It contains no tag tomfoolery, though, so per the documentation it ought to be visible.

Ah, there does appear to be what savannah considers a syntax error in the second paragraph: the inline use of "verbatim" tags.  http://savannah.gnu.org/markup-test.php says "The starting and ending verbatim marks take whole lines; the rest text that may be on the same lines is ignored."  Probably what you wanted here was the "nomarkup" tag: "Unlike the verbatim tag, it produces no text block and can be used within a line."

That doesn't explain all the following lines also being ignored, though.  That still feels like a buggy rendering to me, and is certainly not implied by the markup documentation cited above.

Here's the entirety of my original comment, which I hastily saved to ~/Desktop/a.txt before submitting. It should hopefully be included as a file attachment.

http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/index.php?62233#comment6 explains the problem at length.  In a nutshell, an earlier comment in that bug report is getting cut off when viewing the bug, but the full comment is retained internally, as can be demonstrated by Quoting it.
