Hello,

This seems fixed.

Test message ( https://savannah.nongnu.org/bugs/index.php?50346#comment3  )
which I received as an email did contain the backslash.

hi earl and john and anyone else - i think the \'s should come out correctly in email now.  not sure if either of you are still using savannah any more, but if so, feel free to test and report back good or bad ... thanks, karl.

Yes, I am pretty sure \'s are still incorrectly stripped in tracker email.

(Sorry, I don't know where the code is that generates the email.  I don't know even which vhost it's on, without researching from first principles.  frontend?)

Is this still an issue?

If a backslash is used in a comment for a bug item,
the email that is sent out when the update happens has
the backslash removed.  For example see the following
comment:

https://savannah.nongnu.org/bugs/?18112#comment5

Relevant snippet from comment:

  ((?:cid:)?|(?:(?:http://(?:www\.)?)?mail-archive\.com/)?)($mhonarc::AddrExp)

However, the email sent out removed the backslashes.
Relevant snippet from email notification:

  ((?:cid:)?|(?:(?:http://(?:www.)?)?mail-archive.com/)?)($mhonarc::AddrExp)

All the backslash characters are missing.

For comments that can contain code snippets (or windows
pathnames), this is a problem if one does not know to
go to the web site directly to see the unmodified text.

Seems if the backslashes are getting rendered correctly
on the web site, they should be rendered in any email
that goes out.
