Add a New Comment (Rich Markup)
Done, new tag in IRC messages is: "host_xxx" (for example: "host_~user@host.com"). And the function "string_match" now allows wildcard "*" inside mask, so it's easier to filter a hostname.
and part of my message didn't get through, probably due to broken markup.. So, here it is again: What about adding tags to messages for these, such as:
usermask_Flashcode@zeta.flashtux.org
and
host_zeta.flashtux.org
Of course, for that to be useful, /filter should also support having the * wildcard in the middle of the tag and not just at the end, so one could do:
/filter add test * host_*.flashtux.org /filter add test * usermask_Flash*@*flashtux.org
(or perhaps you have a better idea to do this)
Currently if I don't want to see messages by users from a certain host, I have to use /ignore. However, this will permanently hide the messages from them, while I'd like to be able to toggle visibility. So, I looked at /filter, but it doesn't seem to support filtering based on someone's host (zeta.flashtux.org) or usermask (~Flashcode@zeta.flashtux.org). What about adding tags to messages for these, such as: +++verbatim+++usermask_Flashcode@zeta.flashtux.org---verbatim--- and +++verbatim+++host_zeta.flashtux.org---verbatim---. Of course, for that to be useful, /filter should also support having the * wildcard in the middle of the tag and not just at the end, so one could do:
