Right now you can disable highlights for irc tags via irc.look.highlight_tags.

It would be nice to have some similar option that would disable highlighting altogether in private buffers, or at least so the hotlist/buffers will prioritize message received as a private message event, instead of a highlight event, since that takes priority by default.

In this case, I think it's important to know that you have a private message instead of a triggered highlight rule on a public channel.
