This is upstream's code. While some modifications were made, it would be
premature to add the notices until the FSF decides to fork.

It is something I have advocated for and worked on.

I got busy because my wife had a baby but just finished packaging tha
FSF version of Debbugs for GNU Guix and will demonstrate my deployment
soon.

For now, that version resides on Codeberg. [1] Thanks!

Kind regards,
Felix

Of the files that "file" says are perl, most have
gplv2 or later copyright notices. These have no notice:

./Debbugs/DBase.pm
./Debbugs/Email.pm
./cgi/bugreport.cgi
./cgi/bugs-fetch2.pl
./cgi/common.pl
./cgi/off/cookies.cgi
./cgi/off/version.cgi
./cgi/smarturl.cgi
./cgi/soap.cgi
./migrate/debbugs-dbhash
./migrate/debbugs-upgradestatus
./scripts/bugcount
./scripts/bugcount-oc
./scripts/db2html
./scripts/html-control
./scripts/html-install
./scripts/mailsummary
./scripts/process
./scripts/processall
./scripts/rebuild
./scripts/receive
./scripts/service
./scripts/spamscan
./scripts/spamscan-sa
./scripts/summary

Looks like probably good notices can be added
by copying from the existing notices.

Hi Felix!

Thanks for your submission.  Per our discussion on IRC I have placed your request on hold for the moment and I will follow-up on the help-debbugs list, where I believe you have already been corresponding with other Savannah Hackers.

I look forward to helping you with your request for hosting.

For historical reasons, the code deployed on debbugs.gnu.org has diverged from Debian's upstream project for a long time. This repository holds the Debbugs version actually being deployed by the GNU project.

This repository was copied from the 'gnu-reconstruction' branch of https://gitlab.com/npostavs/debbugs on October 26, 2023. At that time, the most recent commit was 8ab49b89 from June 21, 2018, by Noam Postavsky.
