Fri 15 Apr 2005 03:26:50 AM UTC, comment #2: Paul updated his spec files to RH9 a long time ago, and has recently updated his RPMs to Fedora Core 3. Still needs to check in his latest .spec file. |

Wed 02 Apr 2003 02:21:55 AM UTC, comment #1: There will be no Red Hat Linux 8.1. Apparently Red Hat won't be doing any more "point" (i.e. no 9.0, 9.1, 9.2) releases anymore. It will now follow Red Hat 9, Red Hat 10,... etc. |

Sorry for the delay. I was baffled by how to log in on Savannah after all this time.
I looked at getting back into this in Summer, 2012. That was the last time I rebuilt packages. The lack of RPM update links to the problem of compiling Swarm on newer gcc
Scott Christley was helping me understand 2 major problems. 1) The Swarm-java stuff does not work at all on x86_64 bit. There's some Mframe nonsense we can't escape. So people who want java have to be 32bit, people who don't can go 64.
2) The code as written won't compile with the objective c changes in gcc 4.7. That was such a big step it seems like they should have called in gcc-5.0. Anyway, Scott had framed out a fix for Macintosh that looked like a translation layer to me, I started testing that out, but then got assigned to another project in this Center where I work now.
I quit using Fedora at version 9. But I still build RPM and deb packages for swarm when I need them. I'm pretty sure I've worked on Swarm packaging recently. I'm pretty sure if I did build it, I would upload it. It looks like I'm not totally out of date.
It looks to me like the stuff I have here is accurate, the last Fedora version I built for was 16

For Centos/RedHat 6, there is one built 2012-09-10

Once again, I see my organization is bad, I don't name files consistently from year to year.
Alex has become an RPM expert in the time since we were last together, he knows lots of fancy tricks that I don't. So it is completely fine with me if he takes or throws away whatever I've got so far.
