Version 0.55.3 does'nt SEGV anymore, but the GTK assertion still comes up. It's recompiled from ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/apt/SuSE/9.2-i386/SRPMS.suser-rbos/synaptic-0.55.3-0.suse092.rb1.src.rpm (SuSE 9.2 -> SuSE 9.1)

Keep up the good work!

Regards, Frank

I need more information about this problem to help you. What distribution are you running? Where does the package come from (distro/3rd-party reposiotry)? Can you please produce a backtrace with gdb and attach it to this bugreport? (get a root shell, type "gdb synaptic", then "run", then when it crashed "backtrace").

Thanks,
Michael

Running synaptic from root shell produces:"Gtk-CRITICAL **: file gtkwidget.c: line 2041 (gtk_widget_hide): assertion 'GTK_IS_WIDGET (widget)' failed"

synaptic is "synaptic-0.55.3-1.1.fc3.fr". Previous version (fc2) worked fine. This version was upgraded using previous version.
