IMO, snapping to bars and/or ticks of the metronome (be it in form of metronme clips or whatever; not implemented yet), would make more sense than snapping to seconds or minutes.

To have also min/secs as an option, as the OP suggested, would not harm either, though.

currently snap only occurs with respect to existing clips and marks. i would suggest it would be useful to have options to snap to any combination of clips, marks, seconds, and minutes -- or any one of those individually.

perhaps we could have a dialog with checkboxes for which things are actively snapped to: clips, marks, seconds, minutes.
