Is that expected behaviour? The packaging looks good. One tip: I noticed that Debian is moving towards machine-readable debian/copyright [1]. You might want to consider that for a future version. I used the "All architects - Binary free version's source" (http://www.sakis3g.org/#source). The package is available on http://christophe.jarry.ouvaton.org/gnu-linux/gnewsense/parkes/sakis3g_0.2.0e-3_all.deb. I would like to add this package to the official gNewSense repo.
