AKFQuiz switched to Git
posted by akf, Sun 12 Jan 2014 07:41:18 PM UTC

This project is in maintenance mode for a while. No new features will be implemented, but I try to keep it compatible with new systems.

The version control system has been switched to Git. This should make it easier to fork this project. If you want to make a fork, please contact me, the author. I would be happy to help with this.

For more information how to clone the Git repository, look at the homepage. Also the address for the ChangeLog has changed!

For those who want an easy way of testing AKFQuiz on GNU/Linux systems, there are now some feeds for Zero Install available.

To run either of these programs from the command-line, use one of these commands:

grquiz:

AKFQuiz is now relicensed under version 3 of the GNU General Public License (GPL).

There is a new Debian package available for version 4.4.0. It can be used for Debian 3.1 or better and with most of the Debian derivates.

All programs are in one single package. The program "diaquiz" is only usable when "xdialog" is istalled. The program "cgiquiz" is usable with apache or boa installed and it needs [...]

AKFQuiz 4.4.0
posted by akf, Thu 02 Nov 2006 07:59:40 AM UTC

AKFQuiz 4.4.0 is out now.

The build process has changed a lot. If you want to compile it yourself, you should definitely read the file INSTALL again. The build process is now more "standard" and you have more options. You do not need the package SDL4Freepascal anymore. Therefor you can use GNU-Pascal to compile grquiz with full SDL [...]

posted by akf, Sat 02 Sep 2006 01:55:31 PM UTC

There is a new mailing-list: AKFQuiz-announce.

The list is for all, who want to be kept informed about AKFQuiz, but have no interest in the discussions at AKFQuiz-users.

The list AKFQuiz-announce is a low volume list, where only the most interesting news is posted from time to time. Only I, the list-owner can publish news at this list. Mails [...]

Better support for --help and --version
posted by akf, Tue 15 Aug 2006 06:34:58 AM UTC

All programs in AKFQuiz support the parameters "--help" and "--version" now.

The output is trimmed to be usable with the program "help2man", so you can easily generate nice manpages automatically from the programs. Only "scrquiz" isn't compatible to help2man, and I don't know how to change that. [...]

migrating to Savannah.nongnu.org
posted by akf, Mon 17 Jul 2006 11:01:01 AM UTC

I am slowly migrating AKFQuiz to Savannah. Or to be precise to the territory for non-GNUs of Savannah.

http://savannah.nongnu.org/projects/akfquiz
or
http://akfoerster.de/akfquiz/savannah

You can already use the support database if you have questions or suggestions regarding AKFQuiz. The news section is already usable, as you can see. And [...]
