The current APC voice is in Russian and feels out of place. I created a replacement using method 2 from Bos wiki page about sounds [1].

The attached set of voices/sounds is based on samples available on OpenGameArt [2], which were recorded and edited with Bos Wars in mind.

The Bos Wars copyright text file states that sources have to be provided. How would we go about this?

I wrote down the manual sound editor steps to create the sound in Audacity in the downloadable archive file at [2].

I used two external public domain sounds: one truck engine [3] and one explosion [4]. Both were edited. I only saved the resulting mix of engine/voice (and engine/voice/explosion for the death sound), I did not save the pieces which I had cut out of the truck engine audio and the explosion audio before mixing. I did not write the exact sample (positional information in audio files) ranges, so I could only approximately reproduce the same sounds.

Is there a sound file that as 'source' included in Bos Wars yet?


The license of these sounds allows use under GPL2/3/later versions and/or CC-BY3/later versions.

There are two copyright information lines associated with these files, I am not sure what the right place is for them to be placed:
