Thanks a lot. So I guess on Tuesday my little server will have some work to do.

Kind regards

Once. The checks starting from the second check of a series should be much faster.

Hope it works for you ...

Hi,

first of all, thanks for this great backup tool. I've been using it for about 1 1/2 years now and I'm very pleased with it so far.

I'm backing up several machines to a central server which does the linking every night. What I have NOT done until now (and I really should have done this earlier) is checking the backups for flipped bits and stuff like that.
Last night I ran storeBackupCheckBackup.pl for the first time on a single backup. It took about an hour. If I consider the size of this single backup and the time it took to do one run of storeBackupCheckBackup.pl and do some calculation, I realize that it would take about 7 to 8 days to do a check on every Backup.
But there is a huge lot of hardlinking going on (which saves me a ton of space). So I wonder if storeBackupCheckBackup.pl does consider this and only check the md5sum once per hardlink. This would probably shorten the time needed for a run of storeBackupCheckBackup.pl to about a day. Probably less if I use --lastOfEachSeries.

So does storeBackupCheckBackup.pl check the md5sum once every file or once every hardlink?

TIA
