Very nice idea. Shame on me I didn't yet had it ;-)

I added
$STBU_sourceDir, $STBU_backupDir, $STBU_series, $STBU_tmpDir,
$STBU_lockFile, $STBU_followLinks, $STBU_lateLinks,$STBU_lateCompress,$STBU_verbose, $STBU_doNotDelete, $STBU_deleteNotFinishedDirs,
$STBU_logFile, $STBU_logInBackupDir,

Do you miss something?
Please send me a direct email to -email is unavailable- if want to test / use it.

Are there any command line parameters or environment variables passed to the precommand or postcommands when run, that would tell them about the backup job being run?

I think it would be useful in the postcommand to know the path of the new backup for example. Maybe the config variables too in some uses.

I looked in the source and it didn't look like any parameters or variables are passed.

Thanks,
Hamish
