This issue is considered fixed since commit f77f681 in the master branch. Please test the nightly builds and report any related issues. This bug report will be closed at the end of this week.

A new stable release that includes this fix will be released this week.

See also bug #39320.

Thank you for the patience!

Hi,

Thanks for reporting. I can confirm the bug. Usually the actual reason differs from site to site. In most cases it is the script parsing part of the code. It has a feature to skip scripts above certain size. Reduceing the default size too much will break support for other websites (many of which unknown).

As you've pointed out the only way to block such pages is trough greasemonkey's exclude option. Again true, such configuration cannot be saved for newer versions and have to be added manually. There is a helper script in the Utilities download section that can save some options between updates, but the exclusion rules are not amongst them.

I'm not aware does greasemonkey supports automatic userscript update. Anyway few versions ago there was a request for the version of LM to be visible in the greasemonkey interface. This caused every script to be different for greasemonkey since their names do not match. This also requires manual uninstallation of older versions.

At the moment I barely have the time for the project and it is somewhat stagnant. There are few issues that are caused by the limitations of the Greasemonkey /userscript implementation and I don't know what exactly to do with them without sacrificing functionality.

Stay tuned.

Thanks!

There are some websites for which LM would freeze up Firefox. When that happens have to kill firefox from the terminal and restart.

For example

http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2013/05/pictures/130523-top-ten-new-species-animals-plants-science/?utm_source=Facebook&utm_medium=Social&utm_content=link_fb20130528news-10spec2012&utm_campaign=Content

At the moment the work around is to have such pages excluded in greasemonkey's option. But whenever there is an update LM's settings are not saved so would have to redo it (greasemonkey apparently doesn't update LM automatically so a reinstall of a new script is required)

Thanks.
