Hi, Tested 629e23c on a few webpages and it seems to be fixed. Great work! Thanks a lot.
Sorry, I've forgot to add a file while committing the changes. The new commit id is e867ce0. This is now part of 1.20.
This issue is considered fixed since commit f77f681 in the master branch. Please test the nightly builds and report any related issues. This bug report will be closed at the end of this week. A new stable release that includes this fix will be released this week.
Hi, Thanks for the pages. I've already implemented a switch for manual starting with the option to set websites where Linterna Mágica should start automatically. It is still not in the public source code tree. It will be available today or tomorrow. Probably new stable release will be available. I'll test the websites you provided to see if some information can be gathered. The reason for such crashes usually is caused by parsing huge JavaScript sections. Thanks.
Hi, Thanks for the reply. A few examples. gmail some times (not at log in, but when do a search or bring up an old email) http://www.nationalpost.com/index.html Some pages from http://www.nationalpost.com/index.html Some facebook pages And other random sites that may come up in search
Hi, Thanks for reporting this issue. Lately I barely have the time to watch clips and rarely use Linterna Mágica and mainly on YouTube. Could you provide few (even one is enough) websites where Linterna Mágica crashes the browser? Another user requested similar feature (bug #39320), in July last year. I've been very busy at work and under a lot of stress, so I had not time to investigate the issue. Such button might be very hard task, because of the way Linterna Mágica is inserted into the web page and executed. Please, be patient, I'll see what I can do as soon as possible.
LM has been causing Firefox to crash on many sites. Presumably because there are too many flash objects on these sites? It is possible to manually exclude them in greasemonkey if there are just a few of them that one frequently visits. But this has become quite common: you do a google search, try to open a link that comes up then bam! Firefox turns grey and crashes. It happens so much now that I have disabled LM by default. I think a solution would be to have LM loads only when user clicks a "load" or "play" button instead of always loading it automatically. Thanks.
