Indeed, the scope is different: it means that if you host source code CVS repository somewhere else, we can help move it to source code CVS repository of your Savannah group.

Well, in this page:

https://savannah.nongnu.org/cvs/?group=gsl-shell

it is written at the end:

> If your project already has an existing CVS repository that you want to move to Savannah, make an appointment with us for the migration.

but maybe I misunderstood the scope of this statement.

If Savannah don't propose git migration for webpages please feel free to close this item.

Just to give some background, I consider CVS to be a legacy of the past and I wanted to move to git. I am not very proficient with CVS too, in the last years I have worked exclusively with git.

This is correct.

In what documentation is that written?

The CVS is:

cvs.savannah.nongnu.org:/web/gsl-shell

(the page to browse from the web: http://web.cvs.savannah.nongnu.org/viewvc/gsl-shell/).

It is used to serve the pages:

https://www.nongnu.org/gsl-shell/

That's the project's homepage. I wanted to migrate the repository from CVS to git.

Hello dear GNU fellow

I am the owner of GSL Shell

https://savannah.nongnu.org/projects/gsl-shell

I would like to migrate the Project's Homepage repository from CVS to git. In the documentation it is written to make contact with Savannah support for these kind of task.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Kind regards
Francesco Abbate
