It has been argued that this feature isn't needed. It's not like the original game, and it's not very desirable in a modern game.

what should be configurable for campaigns?

what was configurable in warlords 3 campaigns?

the player's name?

the terrain tile set? the army set?

the difficulty of the computer players?

whether or not the scenario has a hidden map?

should the user be able to play the campaign as a different player?

should the user get another hero at the start of the NEXT scenario in a campaign? perhaps only if the player has no heroes?

gold pieces should also be retained between scenarios. perhaps limit it to a certain amount, to retain balance.

single player campaigns

play successive scenarios, while retaining a certain number of heroes.

the game is over when the final scenario in a campaign is won.
