Should now be OK in CERTI 3.3.2,
there is a corresponding test in HLA Testsuite too
using Interactive_Federate from Pierre

I do add Martin and JB as cc
since they may want to monitor this topic too.

I do re-switch the task as "In Progress"
because the usage of approximate floating arithmetic
introduction used for fixing  bug:
https://savannah.nongnu.org/bugs/?23090

may have broken previously working TARA/NERA.
I'm really sorry about that.
As soon as TARA/NARA work again I'll put a test
(with the help of Pierre) in the
HLA_TestSuite in order to ensure it won't be broken again.

In the same way the fix of
https://savannah.nongnu.org/bugs/?24930

have duplicated the FedTime class in order to make
it reside in its own libFedTime.

Please update your CERTI CVS tree before going-on on this.

TARA and NERA has been since CERTI 3.2.6
but we need to add a HLA_TestsSuite module for it.

Pierre
I did release CERTI 3.2.6 yesterday using
CVS Head as planned.

If TARA and NERA is done may you close the task?
If not may be add a comment in the tracker for missing feature?

I suppose you talk about these two papers:

Fujimoto:
http://www.informs-sim.org/wsc97papers/0373.PDF

Liu
http://www.informs-sim.org/wsc07papers/070.pdf

I found also another interesting document:
http://www.ecst.csuchico.edu/~hla/LectureNotes/TimeManagement2.pdf

(The whole directory contains a lot of interesting stuff
http://www.ecst.csuchico.edu/~hla/LectureNotes)

The author is also Fujimoto and there he talks about time management too. The ideas and concepts are explained in
detail. Also TARA and NERA are discussed (page 24 ff).

I've some small experiences with sync algoritms. I programmed
some conservative sync schemes (CBM, DDAR and some synchronous schemes) with Matlab on basis of PVM. We use our Matlab PVM toolbox for such purposes it is called DP-Toolbox.

So perhaps I could help here.

But at first I will read the literature you mentioned. The
publication of Liu was unknown to me.

A+

We could start by following the proposed implementation by Richard Fujimoto in his founder paper of 1997 Spring SIW.
After this first try, we should have a look to some optimizations,
that are feasible with the help of the RTIG (this central component is inactive with regard to the time management, it is just forwarding NULL messages) or to the proposal of Liu & al. (2006 Winter Simulation Conference) for example.
For very large scale federations, we postpone one more time the idea of building a network of duplicated RTIGs. For the moment, the solution will be to build interfederations.

TARA and NERA are:

imeAdvanceRequestAvailable (const FedTime &)
nextEventRequestAvailable (const FedTime &)

we should analyse and (may be) implement thoses services.
