As part of an attempt to get out a new release, mainly by applying patches being carried by packaging systems, we will be heavyhanded in closing bugs that have not been confirmed to still be valid against 0.4.0. So if your bug is closed, and you can reproduce against 0.4.0, please feel very free to note that and reopen. And feel free to do that even if your bug isn't closed.

I am pleased to announce the release of spamass-milt version 0.4.0.
This is the first of what I hope are a number of maintenance releases with the goal to eliminate the outstanding bug/patch/feature requests:

Quick release to address a compatibility problem with Spamassassin 3.1.1:
- Ensure wrapped headers always use LF (fix for spamassassin 3.1.1)
- Mimic sendmail's Received header even better. Logs a warning
to syslog if it can't fetch a sendmail macro that would help.

Lots of new features: Spam can be redirected to a separate email address. Arbitrary netblocks can be excluded from scanning. You can now pass custom arguments to spamc without recompiling. Sends extra headers to spamc to mimic the ones the local sendmail adds. The manpage should now be readable on all OSes. And some minor bugfixes concerning messages with no headers and localhost mail submission.

Squeaking in before the end of the year is 0.1.3a, which fixes a bug related to headerless messages. 0.1.3 will either hang or spin eating CPU, depending on your OS.

This release fixes a nasty message-corruption bug, cleans up header processing, and adds some command-line switches to block high-scoring messages, pass the recipient's name to spamc, and disable body/subject modification.

At long last!
This is mainly a "fix the killer bugs" release. There are still a lot of patches in the queue, but I wanted to get something out that package maintainers can use.
Release notes:
0.1.2:
- Many portability fixes. Should build on any *BSD, Linux, Solaris, ...

Just as a little reminder:
If you would like to contribute on a more or less regular basis, Dan might add you to the developers so you could help speeding up the development process. Just mail Dan and let him know which savannah login you got and that you wish to help developing spamass-milter.
Regards,
Georg

As Michael has become too busy to maintain the milter, Georg has added me as another admin of the project.
I'll get all the pending patches applied and roll a new release as soon as possible. That should give RPM and Deb/BSD package maintainers something to build with, as well as let admins run a stable build without having to run CVS and apply a bunch of patches.
