I am pleased to announce the release of spamass-milt version 0.4.0.

This is the first of what I hope are a number of maintenance releases with the goal to eliminate the outstanding bug/patch/feature requests:

The following changes are included in this release ...

     posted by dnelson, Wed Apr 5 16:07:15 2006 - 1 reply

Quick release to address a compatibility problem with Spamassassin 3.1.1:

  • Ensure wrapped headers always use LF (fix for spamassassin 3.1.1)
  • Mimic sendmail's Received header even better. Logs a warning

to syslog if it can't fetch a sendmail macro that would help.

Version 0.2.0 Released
     posted by dnelson, Thu Jun 26 22:14:08 2003 - 0 replies

Lots of new features: Spam can be redirected to a separate email address. Arbitrary netblocks can be excluded from scanning. You can now pass custom arguments to spamc without recompiling. Sends extra headers to spamc to mimic the ones the local sendmail adds. The manpage should now be readable on all OSes. And some minor bugfixes concerning messages with no headers and localhost mail submission.

Version 0.1.3a Released
     posted by dnelson, Tue Dec 31 20:22:22 2002 - 0 replies

Squeaking in before the end of the year is 0.1.3a, which fixes a bug related to headerless messages. 0.1.3 will either hang or spin eating CPU, depending on your OS.

Version 0.1.3 Released
     posted by dnelson, Fri Dec 27 22:24:01 2002 - 0 replies

This release fixes a nasty message-corruption bug, cleans up header processing, and adds some command-line switches to block high-scoring messages, pass the recipient's name to spamc, and disable body/subject modification.

Version 0.1.2 Released
     posted by dnelson, Sun Aug 18 21:37:31 2002 - 0 replies

At long last!

This is mainly a "fix the killer bugs" release. There are still a lot of patches in the queue, but I wanted to get something out that package maintainers can use.

Release notes:

0.1.2:

  • Many portability fixes. Should build on any *BSD, Linux, Solaris, ...

Just as a little reminder:

If you would like to contribute on a more or less regular basis, Dan might add you to the developers so you could help speeding up the development process. Just mail Dan and let him know which savannah login you got and that you wish to help developing spamass-milter.

Georg

New Maintainer: Dan Nelson
     posted by dnelson, Mon Jul 22 22:24:13 2002 - 0 replies

As Michael has become too busy to maintain the milter, Georg has added me as another admin of the project.

I'll get all the pending patches applied and roll a new release as soon as possible. That should give RPM and Deb/BSD package maintainers something to build with, as well as let admins run a stable build without having to run CVS and apply a bunch of patches.

New Maintainer: Michael Brown
     posted by greve, Wed Mar 6 13:13:03 2002 - 1 reply

Michael Brown will be taking over the spamass-milter project as the official maintainer from now on.

I'm very glad Michael volunteered for this task as I knew from the beginning that I wouldn't have time to do this myself. Having an active maintainer is important to make sure a project will remain useful to many.

Please direct all questions and emails to him from now on.

Thanks,
Georg
