I needed ICMP to be able to respond to broadcast pings for autoconfiguration. I added flags: LWIP_BROADCAST_PING and LWIP_MULTICAST_PING that can be defined in lwipopts.h if you want broadcast pings. The only patched file is ipv4/icmp.c

Since that is something I missed at least once, too, I just added it to CVS. Thanks for the patch and the idea.
