Corresponding source code
As of now, Latin characters in Meera font goes higher than Malayalam glyphs and Malayalam glyphs go lower than Latin glyphs. This means effective size of the glyph increases (ascent and descent values). This means bigger size for panels and title bars compared to English locale.

If we lower the baseline for Latin glyphs this could be avoided. I think we don't do this normally, this could be an experiment to see how it will look.
