Aspell Malayalam committed in the upstream.
It is Version 0.03 and has 142500 words.

I will update the deb,rpm and wordlist packages with this version soon.

The Malayalam word list I am preparing for Aspell Spelling checker has 133000 words now. The proof reading of these words are almost complete. Thanks to Hussain sir for providing the Unicode Malayalam Contents from Malayalam Books in Digital form. The first version of the spelling checker will be released soon..

So far I collected 25000 Malayalam words from Malayalam wiki and blogs. Did the proof reading for 10000 words.
There was a technical problem with GNU Aspell to handle ZWJ, ZWNJ, and ZWS inside Malayalam. Kevin Atkinson(Author of GNU Aspell) proposed a solution for that and it is solved now. Visit http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/aspell-devel/2007-07/msg00000.html

I will release the first version of Aspell Malayalam soon.

Note: I want volunteers for proofreading and word collection. If any of you are interested let me know/send mail to SMC mailing list. Volunteers should be VERY GOOD in Malayalam and should know how to type Malayalam.

Works started to add Malayalam support to Aspell.
Any pointers on good Malayalam vocabulary collection(UTF-8) will be helpful.We Also need documents/info on Malayalam "Sandhi" Rules.
