Spamass-milter (I believe) does NOT auto-start when you
start sendmail (unless you hack sendmail's startup
script.)  As pointed out, you have to invoke spamass-milter
with the -P and -f options BEFORE starting sendmail with
the modified .cf file.

To start the milter, run

 spamass-milter -p /var/run/spamass.sock -f

(or wherever you put the .sock file).  It's supposed to be
zero bytes; it's not a real file but a unix-domain socket.

just empty, I even tried diff. folder name and/or creating
and empty file by touch.

How do you start it by the milter? I just restarted
sendmail.

Pls let me know... tkx!

The socket should be created by the milter when you start it
up  (you have to do this as a separate step; sendmail does
not start it).

What does an ls -l  on your .sock file show?

I got it compiled under Solaris 7 and integrated
the .cf/.mc configuration but the log keep having
problem w/ the spamass.sock file creation.

How can I create it? A simple blank file I got "error
connecting to filter: Socket operation on non-socket"
error?

Any point would be great... tkx!
