Please remember that spamass-milter uses the string classes,
which have been implemented not too long ago and may still
contain bugs in older versions of the GNU libc.

This might be causing the problems on older installations.

I am seeing something like this too. I'm running 0.1.2
with sendmail 8.12.6 on Red Hat GNU/Linux 6.2.

After some variable time, only one thread of
spamass-milter is left running and sendmail reports that it
cannot connect to the milter.

Prior to that, spamass-milter reports problems replacing
the body of some messages, ranging in size from 32k to 230k.
This is reported from mlfi_eom. sendmail then waits until
the read timeout value (4 minutes) and reports a timeout
during data read and places the milter in an error state.

I'm not sure if this is related to the hangs or not but is
the only suspicious behavior. I'm going to intrument
libmilter to see why it's reporting a failure in
smfi_replacebody.

I've also added much more error checking to spamass-milter
and more debugging output. Patch available on request.

If this hang doesn't happen at 1 AM again :( I'll try and
get a stack trace too.

System Configuration:
Redhat Linux 7.2 - Kernel 2.4.7-10
Sendmail-8.11.6-3
spamass-milter-0.1.2

I will be coming back with a stack trace when I get some
free time. Is there any other info you may need.

I haven't seen it crash on the two systems I run on.  A
stack trace would be helpful, plus what OS you're running :)

I have compiled version 0.1.2 and started running it
on my system and after some time it always crashes. It
also seems to be hanging alot of processes/threads
thatget left running for a long time.

Is anybody else experiencing this. I have it running
on a Celeron 733 test machine (it's all I had) doing
filtering for about 5,000 messages per hour.

I have not tried debugging yet but I was just
wondering before I started looking closely if anybody
else has already done this.
